Privacy Policy

Last updated 12 October 2026. This covers Sylvaris Sapling (the free iPhone and iPad app) and this website, both made by Greenlit Audio.

The short version

Sylvaris Sapling has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. It collects one thing, and only if you choose to give it: the email address you type into TELL ME WHEN IT LAUNCHES. We use it to email you about Sylvaris, and you can be removed at any time.

What the app collects

Your email address, only if you enter it. When you tap SEND, the app sends the address to our server, along with the word “sapling” so we know which app it came from. Our server adds it to our mailing list at Kit (kit.com), the email service we use. Nothing else about you or your device is sent.

Everything else stays on your device. Your sounds, presets, recordings and settings are stored on your iPhone or iPad. We never receive them. If you export a preset, it leaves through the iOS share sheet to wherever you choose.

Bluetooth. If you tap BLUETOOTH MIDI, the app uses Bluetooth only to connect a MIDI keyboard. It does not collect or send anything about your Bluetooth devices.

No tracking. The app does not track you across other apps or websites, does not use an advertising identifier, and does not include third-party analytics or advertising code.

What we use your email for

To tell you when Sylvaris launches, and to send occasional updates about Sylvaris and other Greenlit Audio instruments. Every email has an unsubscribe link. We never sell your address or share it with anyone to market to you.

Who handles it for us

Kit stores the mailing list and sends our emails. Vercel hosts this website and the small server function that receives the address; like any web host, it keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and time of request) for a short period. These companies process data on our behalf and under their own privacy policies.

This website

The website counts page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not follow you across other sites. The sign-up forms on this site send the address you type to the same mailing list described above. The private macOS beta application also asks which DAW and macOS version you use, whether your Mac has an Apple or Intel chip, and what you make; these are stored with your address in Kit. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.

Your choices

Use the unsubscribe link in any of our emails, or write to chris@greenlitaudio.com and we will delete your address and confirm. Wherever you live, you may ask us what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. We do not sell personal information.

Children

Sylvaris Sapling is a music app for everyone, but it is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their email addresses. If you believe a child has given us one, write to us and we will remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above. The current version is always at sylvaris.greenlitaudio.com/privacy.
